Safety

The safety of everyone who participates in DeMolay is paramount and fundamental to the way we are structured and deliver our programs.

At the core of this is our commitment to the absolute safety of our youth members.

At the centre of this commitment is our Child Protection and Youth Management Strategy:

Trained Advisors

We encourage the involvement of parents / guardians and other adults in DeMolay. It is a very rewarding thing to do.

However, there is a thorough vetting process which involves:

• Formal, written application which includes the direct question “Have you ever been convicted of or investigated for sexual abuse, assault or sexual offence of any kind?”
• 100 points of identification
• Current Criminal History Check
• Current “Working With Children Check” as applicable in your state
• Personal reference checking
• Completion of DeMolay International on-line training
• Completion of DeMolay Australia face-to-face training provided by our trained and accredited trainers and confirmed with the completion of our mandatory “Knowledge Quiz”

This process is repeated (minus the personal reference checks) when the Trained Advisors “Working With Children Check” expires.

We set high standards and have processes in place to ensure they are met.
